Didn't get as much done as i'd hoped for but made some improvements none the less swapped the wur over from the black pearl which has sorted the cold running also cleaned up the temp senders on the side of the head and remade the connectors, the bay is starting to come along quite well now will try and get some pics up soon

Re: Back on the Road for 2014
This car is really starting to test me now still getting running issues, have managed to improve a few things though replaced the front wings(nice one venturbo) and fitted the g60 plastics and new side repeaters, fitted new debadged grill and replaced the power cable that runs from the battery to the starter and alternator with some heavy duty cable she starts on the button now just wish it would run properly

Re: Back on the Road for 2014
Haha god bless gsf and their faulty bits i bought a new coil when i was swapping parts over faster than kwik fit which hadn't really changed the running, any way after sorting the fuel blockage problems it still wouldn't drive under load without misfiring so today i bunged the old one back on as bit of a last resort and bye bye misfire still need to get belt and cam to cam timing sorted but at least i can drive it to my mates garage to get the welding sorted

i cut out the vents before in the spoiler i think it makes look a bit more aggressive [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/img]
looks so much better just need a dash of red on the bottom of the grill to finish it off, heres the dash switches and heater panel in all their blue glory
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Gear linkage is now rebuilt with new bushes wasn't much left of the originals, rear undercarriage to be attacked next

Re: Back on the Road for 2014
Not a very exciting update got in touch AVO gonna cost £25 to rebuild the knackered coilover which isn't too bad, clocks are now fitted with blue leds and the front brakes have been rebuilt as well now haven't got any pics during the process but heres a couple of before and after
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
fronts weren't too bad to do because i'd stripped and painted everything when i originally fitted them to the black car so it was just a freshen up
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Rears were a different story this was the passenger side the drivers side was even worse and the handbrake kept seizing
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
no pic of drivers side unfortunately due to corrupted file
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
and the drivers side
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
New rear discs, Greenstuff pads and bearings, braided hoses and vr6 calipers of the black pearl
Back soon

Re: Back on the Road for 2014
Quick update got a few things done today, cut out all the butchered metal from the abortion of a parcel shelf, changed the rear carpet and fitted the trim properly, new oil and filter, swapped the front crossmember for one fitted with polybushes and decent engine mount off my old jetta and got the sidelights in the front indicators wired up with the help of the girlfriends dad. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Old crossmember bushes were perished and the mount had over an inch of play in it
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here's the replacement polybushed and mount with only 10k on it
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Girlfriend's dad getting stuck into the wiring
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
finished result wired them off the spare headlight connectors so they come on with the main beam just need to change the bulbs for leds
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Also changed the oil and filter on his golf, and repaired the secondary air pump and undertray and changed the numberplate and puddle light bulbs for led ones on sarahs bora,

Re: Back on the Road for 2014
Just got the phone call from mate at his garage failed on the following
Corrosion on front passenger side jacking point
Corrosion on rear passenger side jacking point
rear beam to chassis flexi hoses
Exhaust system to noisy
All in all not too bad, the rust and exhaust i knew about any way and I've still got half my scorpion system from my other jetta and a 4 branch on its way from a mates golf so by this time next week hopefully she'll be retested and fully road legal

Re: Back on the Road for 2014
Small update from weekend, no pics i'm afraid the exhaust was an absolute mess of badly welded sleeves and joins and even an attempt at a flamer kit and the downpipe was leaking like a siv so this has all been replaced with my old stainless scorpion system and a secondhand TSR 4-1 just need to get a backbox sorted, The garage is making a start on the welding tomorrow which my welding guy reckons is gonna cost about £400 plus sundries which leaves me the brake flexis to sort. More to come soon
