Re: Ants 86 Jetta GTi Engineering with a twist
Right ok ive been away a while and here is why ive decided to go a little upbeat
so meet the doner £300 later i had a Clean CAT C right off
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Again stripping the old girl didnt take me long lol but The Jettas new heart emerged
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
So far ive managed to gather together a Corrado Rad / Fan setup G60 brakes and hubs. Im gonna stick with the Mk2 4 Stud setup to keep the 1 of 50 appearence as id like to keep it looking that little bit different (and the cars worth more with the original set up so ketp everything). Because shes a pre 90s car im gonna swap the whole loom over

lots of work there fella but a good doner car and i bet you can recoup most of your 300 if not more! It will certainly confuse many with the sound of the V

Re: Ants 86 Jetta GTi Engineering with a twist
Right its been a while since the last update so here comes the big one
As you all have seen the engine is out and the bay painted ive taken some serious time out to get this done and more than happy with the resault i will not be showing the finnished project untill the shows well i might lol depends how tetchy i get
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Chassis knocking
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Engine cleaned and painted
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
had to do a few steering adjustments as the items didnt match up
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Complete custom front cross member so im running the orriginal Mk3 engine mount belive me its far smother than the aftermarket solid engine mount and still utilises the corrado rad and fans
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Gearbox painted
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Its safe to say im getting there
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
This car is slowly becoming the third person in my marriage the great thing is in doing this ive managed to keep the complete set up from the original car all neatly boxed up in my fathers garage and the cars had a complete resto from top to bottom

Re: Ants 86 Jetta GTi Engineering with a twist
Right peeps i got so caught up with the rewight of the sit i didnt realise my thread didnt contain the current eprogress. The engine is in a runs sweet as a nut and ive made a small moddification to the clocks
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
You like??
Ive done a little detailing in the bay but whole idea with the car was to keep it looking factory
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Ive done a rather different mod inside the car but i dont want to reveal that just yet
