[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
just discs? wrong
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
audi TT setup
24mm bigger than my current setup (288mm - later vr spec)
288mm just fits under 15s so ive got some mk4 bbs montreals in the garage primered ready to be painted black, then its tyres and a big picture update

Re: Mark's vento VR6 *sad days*
are they the standard ones like mine? took me 6 hours to rub them down before paint then rubbing after every coat, a hella lot of work! but it does look the business. i wish i still had mine.manzi wrote:think i'm gunna have to colour code my bbs wheels black. looks loads better.

Re: Mark's vento VR6 *sad days*
i had to buy mine. bought the vento with borbet A's. don't think finish will matter too much with mine as i only use them for winter wheels, maybe drag and track events.

Re: Mark's vento VR6 *sad days*
well, i quit my job so i have plenty time this week to get the car done.
pics of tomorrows work goodies - yes that is a new sump. being low has adverse affects on your oil pan
6mm spacers for the carriers are made too, had to make them by hand as i dunno where my grinder has gotten to.

more pics tomorrow i hope

Re: Mark's vento VR6 *sad days*
Woke up this morning and it was pissing it down i thought f*ck it if i dont do it today it'll never get done.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
just for comparrison the size difference between 288 and 312
the reason for the 6mm plate spacer is because the tt discs sit further in the hub than mk3 discs
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] notice the face sticking out further than the friction area.
pretty straight forward swap
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
not given it a good test out since its raining but it feels much more powerfull than the 288 setup. pretty pleased

Re: Mark's vento VR6 *sad days*
lookin really tight on space for calipers. but looks ace!
tbh i'm thinking that 288mm setup ain't too great either, ya kinda have to pump REAL good to stop. maybe i've do same later -later in the year.

i never thought there was anything wrong with my 288mm setup, maybe your brakes are needing bled if you need to pump them to make em work?
definitely worth doing the 312mm setup. One of my proudest mods, on par with my rado wing.

Re: Mark's vento VR6 *sad days*
I JUST CANT LEAVE THIS CAR ALONE
newest idea was for an early style badgless grill, but ive read on them that aftermarket ones are poor quality fit and are 1 peice rather tha 2 peice like the oem one, so i bought two oem early grills and cut the badge out, used the slats from the other grill and sized them into place. needs plasic welded at the back, filled then painted. OEM two peice badgless grill
