Re: Project Poverty!!!!
Well not been here for a while so will put up a few picks for you all soon as,
in Jetta World, I have had the 1.9 td fitted and it goes well, few little service things to sort out but dont they all,
Fitted a GTI grey velour interior, minus the door cards as they were a right of but seats are ok,
has a 3" stainless system put on it but need to get rid of the front silencers and the back box is that dam big it rests on the wheel well so it all may get changed,
we have rebuilt the front and rear breaks, new wishbones, handbrake cables, brake compensator valve, but may need to replace the master cylinder as they are breaking will but still a little spongey,
Then last week i got a set of coilovers, new front and rear suspension top mount, and new rear beam bushes ready to be fitted in a couple of weeks along with having some welding done for the mot in march, ,
I will get some picks of some of the bits i have done up for your eyeballs soon,

Re: Project Poverty!!!!
ok so as a few of you may know from Inters i was selling the jetta, and after a long debate (row) with the parents it has stayed in my hands, I will keep you all alot more updated and you can all be safe in the knowladge it will now never leave my hands, its going to require alot of money (which id dont currently have) and its going to be one hell of a long project because of that matter, but it will be worth it in the end, I may also require me to take the buss alot when it is of the road for repairs and restoration, but if thats how it has to be to get it to spec thats the way it will have to be and im prepaird,
wish me luck, and please pick my spirrits up when im downed buy the road ahead,

Re: Project Poverty!!!!
just a little video of the engine running,
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I have now put new bottom ball joints on which has stopped one of the knocking noises, new water pump which has not managed to stop the squeeking but i defiantly now think its the belt as it does go away when its warmer, Gave it an oil change and the best bit a 2.15" straight through system from downpipe to backbox,
next on the list is thrust bearing, new front wheel bearings, and fix all my heater woes!!!

Re: Project Poverty!!!!
So it seems the tempreature woes are cylinder head related, so thats it, its coming off the road this winter, and its going to be completly striped, and re built maybee even painted,
On a good note tho i am now the proud owner of a set of 5 Audi pepper pots, and they were a steal at 50 notes

Re: Project Poverty!!!!
Cheeeeeeeeep on the peppers front should look sweet on a mk2 keep us posted on the rebuild front. Is it much faster with the new lump? How much did the conversion cost if you dont mind me asking? Ive always been quite tempted but wondered if its worth it?
Re: Project Poverty!!!!
Yeah the pepper pots were quite a steal, don't quite know how i'm going to get them to sit right being only 6j wide but i believe they will look the business,
the 1.9AAZ is a fab engine if i'm honest and it has to be as quick as an 8 valve gti imo and pulls like a train, i really would like to get a bigger turbo on it, bigger ic, GTD injector nozzles and the rover 420 boost pin and i could se 150BHP ish and a mother load of torque,
As the engine is a drop in and out the conversion only cost £300 and the engine its self with all the ancillaries i get for £400
I does now need a new head gasket or head tho and the gearbox needs rebuilding but i think its my own fault for giving a 170k engine death almost everywhere i go lol,
on other news i have sourced some cheeeeeeep rip off Dynamat from Ebay but as long as it does the trick i'm not fussed about the name, 2m x 1m for £26.95 delivered so thats going to be systematically placed through out the car starting with under the dash and foot wells.
I have also got me a Polo GT Steering wheel in pretty good nick which is now on, so i will get some picks up asap
untill next time
