Re: '87 Jetta GTI 16v
its about time I updated.......
After WTA was basically raped for parts for the GT Special restoration, its pretty much sat there all sad and sorry for itself on my drive (driving down local house prices no doubt). Life in the Golf Country daily driver has been ok but i long for a good ol' valver thrashing! The RE1900 engine is pretty much rebuilt (thanks Rob) and with the addition of some Kent cams, schrick sump, new rings and **** loads of gaskets and elbow grease, it should be ready for the CGTI track day. The buckets and harnesses are in, its pretty much has alll the stolen parts replaced, its as filthy as hell! Now theres the OMP strt brace to put on, the 25mm ARB to bolt on, and a good going over necessary. Will I make it- quite possibly or ill be ragging a Golf Country along the Bedford Autodromes 3.6 mile GT circuit!! (or at least until I roll it.....................)

Re: '87 Jetta GTI 16v
a long overdue update
I made it to the CGTI Bedford day in November '11 but only just!
We finished getting the car ready at 10pm but hadnt had the chance to lower it or fiddle with the suspension
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
It was a 5am wake-up call and off we went. Here are a few from the day
(black helmet is me and white helmet is Rob who helped make it happen)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here is a couple of the guys in the Beemers that I span in front of (see vid)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
eventually I got around to putting a couple of vids up on youtube
this is me (and I spin it)
