E Reg GTI 16v Jetta, Jade Green
Thought id get some info up about my Jetta, will add pics as soon as i get them hosted.
The car itself, is on the verge of scrap or save, ive spent a fortune on it up to now to keep it on the road (was never looked after by previouse owners) and im at the point where i dont know if ill ever truely save it no matter what kind of money i throw at it body work wise etc.
i have done alot fo work on the car myself which has kept costs down, did a headgasket a couple of months ago and a cam belt, and a water pump, starter motor etc. so engione is up to scratch for the mo.
bodywork wise needs two new rear doors and a new driversa door, the rears have rusted and the drivers was hit by a huge rock some chav threw at me for the fun of it. both wings need replacing as hit by hit and run crap drivers
mechanically wise its pretty sound.
specs are
lowered on coilovers, spax rsx
Azev A's 16 x 7.5 on Toyo Proxy t1r's 215 x 40 x 16
stainless backbox
mk4 golf rear claipers
braided hoses all round
delocked rear hatch
cat 1 alarm
boot pop solonoid
eletric central locking
electric windows one touch down seat toledo modual
electric mirrors
Rallye headlights slampanel and grill
Golf leather intirior (inside is a great place to be)
50mm manifold off my old 16v jetta (i had to scrap boo hoo)
headlight relays makes my lights super bright
definately a rat look car but goes really well and suprises alot of people
still to do
fit the tinted glass i have
fit big bumpers arch trims and so on (when and if it gets sprayed)
fit foglamps
respray
fit 2.0li block i have
edit: fit the 280mm vr6 brakes i have all ready to go on
im sure ill think of more in the future, ill add the pics later when i get them hosted!

I've always kept an eye on this through CGTi, sound like you've got similar plans and experienced similar bad luck to me also.
Glad to see it's still about, i'll look forward to some updated photos. Where abouts are you based? I may be able to help with some parts.

Re: E Reg GTI 16v Jetta, Jade Green
im in stoke on trent, but travel to manchester and macclesfield regularly and i also occasionally go to liverpool in a big white van lol
yeah its still about, actually running really well since i did a head gasket on it a few months ago, but i had to weld new rear arches on and the petrol cap is getting pretty bad and its had a new sill and so on, and i think it just might be too late for it to last much longer every mot seems to be getting more and more expencive these days.
however it is a pleasant car to be in and its never really let me down ive always got home, and i suppose allot of its character has to do with being an old car which is always fun!

hiya mate.. car sounds nicely spec'd... what about re-shelling it.. strip it and put it into a car with mint body and shafted engine.. as after all jetta's are pretty cheap to come by..and it sounds like you can use a spanner..
