My Vento! Fresh Rimzzz and Rubber! Empty My Vento! Fresh Rimzzz and Rubber!

Post by maccadub Tue Aug 05, 2008 1:18 am

Hello everybody.. finally got round to getting my own build thread up so thought i would post up my most recent pics of the car before it goes in for some body work.

When i got the car it was sitting on 17" Wolfrace Shadow's dropped 40mm on springs and bilstein shocks.

Took me a bit of saving and what not as im only a student but then the neccessary changes took place!

anyway, here goes...

Here's the pics of the car from when i first joined JOC

Mods:

Alpine 9850i iPod Headunit
Fk Konigsport Coilovers
16" Borbet A's 7.5" out front 195/45 (slight stretch)
9" out back 215/40 im think (Niice stretch)
Debaged Grille
Bosch Aeroblade Wipers
Vr splitter
Lemon Air Freshener........ mmmmm Very Happy

nice reflection!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

After this it was time to ditch the fully DIY tinted rear lights which were on it for some yellow/red cl lights.. i soon ditched these for a set of vr tail lights..

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Around this time i posted the car up on this site and edition 38 i got a few feed back comments to revert back to the badged grille (the day i did it, the dog snapped my debaged grille into 2 clean pieces (gotta be a sign)... so no going back now!!)

Pressed plates courtesy of theplateman make things cleaner at both ends

As you can see comparing to the golf, the vento sites a could deal lower.. Not sure how many mm ive droped it but its quite alot! (will still go lower like)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Forget the vento for a minute.. Those cats eyes are pretty scary!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Borbet's look great at night (to anybody considering a set)

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So there it is upto present day sat next to my golf.

Comments and feedback welcome! tongue

Yeah, the later ones are updated... has been lowered another 30mm (ish) on the front (forgot to add that) Yeah bud, the splitter's nice although i keep catching it on whatever uneven ground i come across.

Your mk3 is seriously nice, the fact that its a vr means yes, keep it! (i like it in the little group pic at the top with the bonnet bra) after one myself

I got mine with the car when i bought it, its hides the scratch across the bonnet nicely.

you should have a chat with Reaver, he's lookin into gettin some magnetic ones. its a nice tight fit and you'll not have to worry about it soaking up water n that.

Yeah man! the brakes are a bit spongy at the minute so im getting a set from a 2.0 ABF 16v cordoba... should provide more than enough stopping power for what i need at the minute, then hopefully upgrade the front's to 280mm grooved with Audi S2 twinpot calipers that a mate is selling in preparation for the engine conv. Very Happy

Mr T wrote:Im liking the updated photos. I prefer ventos without the vr arches.

So do i mate without a doubt! Its literally just to hide that bit of rust round the arches until the bodywork is done lol then the arches will be sold on + provides a bit of a different look for a little while which isnt a bad thing (just an excuse for more people to think its a vr lol Razz )
