Bora V5
Hello... been on here for quite a while now so I thought it about time to post some pics of the Bora.
After spending some of the morning removing my US spec rear lights which i've just swapped for an Oettinger front grill, I thought i'd take the car to clumber park and shoot some pics... hope you like and comments are welcome(bad ones too just don't make me cry)

Re: Bora V5
Hi ya buddy dont know why but i recon blue is the best color on the bora funny that. lookin stunnin mate kinda wish id gone for that blue instead of the Jazz Blue what did ya old lights used to look like?
Re: Bora V5
Thanks alot... I love the colour too. I had the smoked GLI rear lights and I think I should have gone for the clears? The clears would match better with the side repeaters and headlamps... oh well i hope the grill looks sweet as I hunted high and low for a gen oettinger one when out of the blue a mate got one and demanded my U$ rears as a swap, As I wasn't entirely happy with the lights I surrended and its in my bodyshop now being painted.
Also... I'm painting the rear bumper, front bumper and N/S A post as there are a couple of marks which bug me. While it's in I was gonna do something with the valances.
4 motion Rear is a definate but shall I colour code it as well as the front or leave them be???
Your ideas will be greatly recieved!!

Re: Bora V5
Love the V5 20v. Sounds fantastic and a bit of a dark horse in the shadow of the 1.8T. Plenty brisk enough though I assume and quicker than a 150pd!
Re: Bora V5
A proper dark horse!!!
I've had a 150pd(re-mapped)... a 150 v5 and a 170 V5. I can honestly say the others couldn't touch the 170...spend all you want chipping and re-mapping diesels and re-mapping the 1.8T, This is 'out of the box quick' and would leave most for dead. I think it's left behind because of the poor fuel economy although 32mpg ain't bad but is considered 'fuel of the devil' these days, yet 5-10 years ago oil burners where miles behind. Diesels are a good testiment to modern technology still returning 60+mpg and alot of fun to boot!!
I just like the coffee in petrol stations thats all and i collect more nectar points(not bitter at all )

Re: Bora V5
mines does something like 20-25mpg, its a right petroloholic (if there is a such word, doubtfully tho).
i think you should colour code it, reason i say that is cos will be make your car look a little more lower.

I know it'll look lower and thats a big plus
I'm just fed up of being on my hands n knees with a sponge and bumper gel thats all... call it lazyness if you will
just put new 2008 R line badges on it and made one for front grille when Oettinger one goes on... they look sweet and the new '08 ones match my car colour bang on!!

Re: Bora V5
Lovley m8!
I'd leave the valence black, hides the stone chip's,(but im lazy)
mine's is only lowered by 35mm and i keep catchin it on speed bump's,at least bumper gell can cover up the black but if it's blue you'll see the marks a lot.

Re: Bora V5
Hooray... Oettinger grille fitted today.
After separating it all down into parts I painted the mesh and the inner of the VW grille badge to make it look crisp.. will post pics at weekend.
It looks great, i'm really pleased with it.

Like most VW's.. engine power/model is badge related.
A 'Red' inlay on the model badge indicates a higher power output.
For example with the V5's
ALL silver 'V5' badge = 150 bhp model
'RED 5' on the V5 badge = 170 bhp model
Pre 2001 V5's are 150bhp and the main visible under bonnet difference of an individual coil pack on each plug(so no red HT leads running over the engine cover)
