Almost Factory 87 Valver
Well I've been a member on here for yonks and I did post up some pics of my car prior to the new format of the website but alas recently I've been a bit slack and not a lot has changed on the car, in fact it has done about 12 miles since September 2010 when I took it to Belgium to a show.
Anyway, what you see here is a bit of a rarity, well at least I like to think so. It is a 1988 (built 1987) Jetta Gti 16v in Monza Blue. The colour in itself is rare but this one has had only two previous owners and has covered a smidge over 42k in its 23 year life. I've not really done much to it apart from having some paintwork done, coilovers and trying on my various sets of wheels.
I hope you like, I'll try to do this chronologically
The day after i picked it up
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Rear coilovers on, and yes it was cold fitting them
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Fronts on and a set of timeless 'C's' added with 185 35's
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
At this stage I decided that I wasn't going to ruin the car by rolling or cutting the arches so went for some different timeless rims
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
then came the paint, the offside had been poorly repainted in a previous life and the lacquer was coming off all over the place so there was only one thing for it
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Nowt too major though, just a rub back to bare metal
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
ahhhh, that's better
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
All bolted up and back together, roll on the opportunity for a photoshoot
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
gotta love the quarterlights
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Cars came, cars went, babies came and drew on time and cash and the resulting need for a bigger house.
Now a car like this need to be kept in the garage, so that was one of the only requirements of the new house. So what do I do, I buy a house without a garage. After much head scratching I decided that the children didn't need as much grass to play on and embarked on the next project

getting there
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Trying for size
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And long story short
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Fits lovely
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Now for the whoring pictures
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Would of been rude not to try it on the RZ
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
That's pretty much as far as I've taken it so far, so many more things to do to it but time and money are key. In the meantime I still need a realiable daily and whilst keeping with the booty theme I've done this
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
oh, and then there is the additional project which I'll share pictures of later, don't panic though, it has a boot too.

Re: Almost Factory 87 Valver
Whilst I am on photobucket it would be rude not to throw up a couple of my previous Jettas,
The first is my sig, a 1272LX in Capri Green, paid £300 for this car and bar the coilovers not much else (apart from the loan of some wheels from my wheelstore)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
then there is the girlfirend, the one I should never of gotten rid of, a 91 pearl grey valver with optional extra Jetta (not golf) factory Recaro's. Oh how I kick myself now!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
A vento that was the wifes came and went
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
And a Windsor Blue 2.0 16v ABF (another one I regret selling)

Glad to see you have been loyal to the brand i especially loved you Capri green big bumper that was lush. Myself ive had a bit of an identity crisis over the last year for some bizarre reason i sold my VR GT and switched to 4x4s and Mazdas but thankfully ive now come to my senses lol
Re: Almost Factory 87 Valver

I was half tempted with your GT but the dash and VR put me off. I think the only other Jetta that I'd sell my one to buy would be RE2's GT but it'd be a close call.
In the meantime I've bought this to tinker with

Re: Almost Factory 87 Valver
Always room for more jettas in my life. I've had my fair share of other dubs but the booted variety is the one thats remained the favourite. I am just a fan of the three box design.

Jetta looks stunning on the G60s and BBS. Never thought a Toledo could look so good either, nice work!

Re: Almost Factory 87 Valver
Been a while since I posted in here, apologies. Coupe went, again another mistake. However I have recently aquired this which some of you may recognize.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
taken the wheels off today for a mini refurb so it currently stands like this
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I've still got the valver and it's still sub 43k
