87 Monza Blue valver
Well, not posted on here for a while as I have been without a booted beauty for a bit. Recent turn of events brought this 87 valver to my attention and it just had to be bought. 87 with a shade over 40k on the clock. Got a few little gremlins going on but nowt too dramatic! These pictures were taken as soon as I got home, it's already started undergoing its makeover!

Re: 87 Monza Blue valver
I went to look at a Monza blue once, and made an offer even though it was a shed, and needed a respray.
I really want a Monza blue, an Oak green, Schwartz black, Royal metallic blue, Helois Blue.............
Fine machine. I want it.

Looks to be genuine, service schedule appears to of gone walkies but got Mot's going back which seem to confirm the mileage. It was previously owned by an elederly couple who used it once a week to do the supermarket run. Some years it has barely done 350 miles between MOT's!
The way it drives, the condition of the exterior and also the underneath would all seem to suggest its low miles.
Been busy shopping for a few bits this week already

Had chance to play this weekend, decided against the 17's so thought that i would go safe. Still trying to decide on ride height, not quite there yet but getting there

Re: 87 Monza Blue valver
Will hopefully be going to santa pod but not sure if i am taking the jetta yet. The paint isn't worthy of a debut just yet, the whole right side needs painting as does the bonnet. It looks like the previous owner polished it with a brillo pad
I'll get there eventually, no rush as it's intended as a keeper and a project. Plenty to do! Was hoping to pick up an early TX interior as mine is sunblushed but the for sale section seems to be full of nothing, is that normal?

Re: 87 Monza Blue valver
Just spoken with the bodyshop who I am using, looks like all systems go this coming Friday. Looks like I will be spending the next couple of evenings stripping it ready for its subtle makeover. Looks like i'll be taking the golf to the pod instead.

Re: 87 Monza Blue valver
It does look good on the steels! What tyre size are you using?
my interior was all faded too so i am fitting a late GL interior for now. I dont suppose you have a couple of spare center caps for the bottletop alloys do you??
