Re: MY G Reg Jetta GTI 16v mk2.. Well new for me
well the car is looking shiny now spent all afternoon cleaning, including tar removal a proper good wheel clean and another wax (after the one i did last weekend lol, you can tell im single again )
only thing left to do now is a bit of hoovering and sorting of that rear bumper which i will do tomorrow morning hopefully. didnt get any pictures as it was dark by the time i finished. you can guarantee now it will rain and cover the car in shite before the show still what can you do lol
cant wait now tho
edit oh to update things ive done last few days
fitted the 90 spec number plate tub, fitted the inside sunroof cover (finally) fitted the sunroof spoiler, fixed my fog lights (relay was broken) had the camber setup properly, refitted parcel shelf now ive set the stiffness, fitted the caps on the spoiler so you cant see the screw holes, repolished the wheel rims not tat you can tell and re wired my electric windows so the control box works properly which im really pleased about oh that and went for a nice long drive in the sun which i really really enjoyed, loving the car at the moment i must admit!
only issues are the engine is getting pretty smokey at idle so will have to get going with the engine conversion at some point, and unfortunately having some major issues with the paint, im sure you will all see the problems at ultimate dubs a bit gutted about it all, but what can you do. sprayer is going to repair it all under warentee at some point. such a shame tho. still if you dont look close you would never know lol

I bet the corners are genuine delight now.
Shame about the paint, good about the warranty. Looking forward to catching up. Should be an excellent event.

Re: MY G Reg Jetta GTI 16v mk2.. Well new for me
just read through this again, hopefully give me some motivation to do something as i haven't touched it for months. however with the smokey engine and a few other niggles i dont want to look at it lol. plus the weather is shite. when the weathers nice i love to take it out but now its smoking its just embarrassing.
ahh well if i can save a bit while doing this house ill try to get the engine swapped then i will enjoy driving it, untill something else breaks lol

Have you read this book?: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
In one part of it it shows how to put on some really hideous side stripes and the project car (so to speak) is your green 16V
E248JBD: Exactly the same car
It was first published in 1988 so your car must have been almost brand new then.
Just thought you'd like to know
