Just won a mk2 Jetta

Hi,
I have just joined this site as i have just won a Jetta on ebay, it is a 16v in mettalic grey, i have not picked it up yet, but that should be on Tuesday .
I am no stranger to Vw,s, mk1, mk2, Polo's etc, but this is is my first Jetta.

The Jetta 16v seems to be few and far between these days, so it will be a nice change from my mk2 16v

Just got the car home, i do have some issues with the car, i have some grinding and clunking from the l/h/s of the car, i have my doubts about the rims being the right offset, i think they need spacers, as i think i can see marks on the inside of the wheels at the front.

Just found out that this car was a traffic branch car from new in Bedfordshire, as i have found a letter in the paperwork!!
Never knew the Police used them?

Hi mate welcome to the club.
I was also keeping an eye on that one. (look after it)

Check the wheels have spigot rings in them, might have the wrong centre bore. Also check for broken springs, top mounts, disc's secure and anti roll bar bushes (if fitted).

Steveb's Jet is an Ex police car too did you find out what the grinding was?

Yeah the grinding was caused to a caliper securing bolt falling out, so it must not have been too tight!!
