Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
Liking the Mk5 alloys they suit the Bora beautifully saw your car at spring festival as i had a wander round the show. I always find that if you dont wanlk round the car park you miss alot of the cars. what other plans you got for it?
Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
Cheers, was tempted by the RS8 alloys but are alittle too common now.
Not sure what other mods to have done yet. Only had the car 4weeks!!!
Also waiting for my private plate to be put on car so can have German plates from DubMeister put on. Also need a beesting aerial and not sure if to change side repeaters to smoked black ones?
DEFINATELY need a stand at summer festival. Get more Jetta's and Bora's there. A distinct lack of the booted variety on sunday.

Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
Stand is a top idea. Id stick with the chrome side repeaters on on a silver bora but then you have black rears so yeah would work i should think who came up wit the quote "if it aint rubbin you aint dubbin" classic. Do you get any rub on 50mm springs?
Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
The quote is off a sticker that i have attached to my rear screen. I will upload a photo of it later!
Oh and yeah it does rub but only on full lock, but will be sorting that out by removing the plastic that its rubbing on!
Not removing the springs when i can get rid of a bit of plastic instead (alot cheaper too!)

Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
Nice work....bit of rubbin never hurt nobody :p Can't beat a clean silver Bora
unitzero - I would uprate your dampers too, I ran 40mm H&R springs on my Bora and the ride was shocking. When I got my coilovers the old dampers were knackered. Pay a bit extra and do the job once

Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
The rubbing is just the plastic shell inside the wheel arch. It only rubs when on full lock to the right. But my bro says he is goin to sort it. Although waiting for him is like watching paint dry so will do it myself when the weather improves!
I've just changed the springs and everything seems to be coping fine. I dont find the ride too uncomfortable it bounces around alittle on a really bad road but any normal car does!

Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
Unfortunately i've had a bit of bad luck with my Bora recently all thanks to some dodgy german lexus style lights! (Thanks Nath!)
First of all it had to go into VW with a faulty brake light switch; they said it was possibly due to the lights, but i never thought any more of it and thought they would be fine.
Secondly, a few days later i was on my way to fosse park when i could hear a sloshing noise from the rear of my car. I looked down into the foot well of the rear passenger side to discover a puddle of water just over an inch deep. I later opened my boot to find the monsoon rain had got in through the dodgy lexus style light into my boot, through the chairs and down into the floor.
The water has now triggered the airbag fault light to come on and probley another expensive trip to VW to see if any more damage has been done.
I've spent the whole weekend stripping back the carpet and seats to try and dry it out and replaced the lexus style lights back to the non matching originals that the car came with! From now on if i buy anymore lights i will be checking the seals more carefully and not trusting someone else's word on it.

Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
Well its all dried out at last after a fair few days of using the vax, and a hair dryer!
My brother checked his car and they had been leaking when they were on his car too.
Just got to get the airbag light sorted and some new lexus lights that dont leak, then its all sorted!

Re: My 1.9 TDI Bora
Yep Wedding all went well he's now sunning himself in Hawaii! Couldnt afford to go to VW to get airbag light sorted, so bought a diagnostic code reader off ebay for £25 delivered and cleared the fault myself. (much cheaper and alot less hassle!)
Car is all dried out now and i am saving my pennies to buy some new lights that match (as the ones that came with the car are not a matching pair but you would never notice)
