Untitled - 1992 Jetta GLI
Hello my name is brent and i am new over from JettaJunkie.com and was wondering what the UK Vw's lookin like......
I currently drive a 1992 VW Jetta GLI 2.0L was a 16v but went to an 8v because the mileage was way better aswell as condition and power output..... the 16v was beat hardcore before i owned it...... also couldn't find a decent 16v
Its mostly stock except for the 15" OZ fittipaldi rims which are to be powder coated white as soon as spring hits and there is no snow..... My mod plans are skunk 2 stage 2 clutch, AEM intake, Hooker exhaust, new paint.... same red color, but hood will be white, rims will be white..... I am also looking into a turbo is i can find a cheaper one that works decent...... Just bought it lookin kinda dirty but its my project!!!!
sorry for the angles i used a hunting and big game camera LOL.... couldn't aim it correctly...

Re: Untitled - 1992 Jetta GLI
Hi ya buddy welcome to JOC sounds like ya got a lotta plans for the car where abouts in the US are you from?
Re: Untitled - 1992 Jetta GLI
I am from the east coast....... to be percise i am from Edgecomb, Maine, U.S.A.
Reaver when you said the cars are more popular in the U.S. over on jetta junkie, you're probably correct, but no one does anything with them but beat them..... I find very few people with really nice project cars... they work on them, then beat the hell out of them..... The nicer ones come to the local VW Auto Show at the fair grounds, I plan on going there next year with my project...
Any suggestions on how to degrease an engine besides engine brite because i can seem to reach into spots that i want clean possibly a tool that can reach with a soft end??

Re: Untitled - 1992 Jetta GLI
you need some sort of spray engine degreaser obviously being carefull not to aim it at the more sensative areas of the enginereally not sure what to recomend because you bound to have different or rebranded products in the states

Oh i see..... magic trees......
Thanks.... Just got the hood sanded primed and painted white last night.... Did it with spray can paint but it came out perfect..... a few blotchy spots in the middle but nothing a little 1500 grit sandpaper ice cold water and 2 coats of laquer wont cure.....
Will have pics soon....
