So then i bought a 70k mile 1.8 Gl, bit tatty with rusty arches all round, rear panel rusty, but generally sound and standard.

Stripped my Golf Gti for parts and wheels etc:

Fixed up rear arches and panel :

Got new front wings:

And this is how it stands now:

I love it. Next on the list is to fit my bucket seats out of the Golf, wind the coilies down a bit, and maybe weld new arches on the rear as i'm not 100% happy with what i've done.

Drive like that Embarassed ... actually you don't, it's illegal, they just covers that you gotta take off while on the move. If i was clever i'd hook them to motors to retract them. But i'm not that clever Laughing Crying or Very sad

Mask off the lower parts and the black bits so only the indicator lenses are showing, then use tint spray:

8x14's on front 9x14's on rear. 195 tyres all round. Inner tubes on rear!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Inner tube tore itself to bits about 12 miles into its life: lol!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So i've now got 205/45/14's coming for the rear. cheers
