My 86 Jetta GT
Hey up! I'm a newbie!
Bought this a while back and had it sat waiting for me to pull my finger out!
Its done a genuine 48k from new, 3 previous owners and its got every mot since 93 and a load of history!
Its a GT which i think is a rare model, as its actually a gti but was badged a 'GT' from the factory!
Body work is superb, needs the passenger front door bottom sorting, a couple of small scratches sorting and the bonnet needs painting!
Not much in the way of plans for it, just get the Zenders on it (shown in pics), and get my coilovers on! Other than that give it a good service, do the cambelt, waxoyl it and that'll do! Its too nice and original to mess with!

Nice one welcome to the club, i like the way your going with this one! for some reason this jetta really floats my boat.... LOVES IT!!
Re: My 86 Jetta GT
Haha noooo its not a 4x4, its getting dropped on coilovers but keeping it driveable and handling well so wont be going crazy low! Ive got a 2litre mk2 16v golf which is my play thing (and currently in bits!), this is just going to be my sunny day minter which i really enjoy driving!
Cheers for the positive comments!! I'll keep you all posted with its progress, hoping to have a lot of stuff done for vw festival next month (full service, cambelt kit, rocker gasket, new brakes all round etc etc)
Just need a free weekend to blitz it!

Re: My 86 Jetta GT
The zenders are ending up on my golf 16v as i want to keep this oem! Would white 14'' teardrops suit it with a subtle drop??????

Re: My 86 Jetta GT
No not all GTs had half leather seats the best way to think of a GT is to look at the Golf GTi around the same time, the specs were identical the name was different just to differenciate between Jetta and golf thats why the Jetta was later rebadged GTi because basicly GTs are GTis with a different name in both 8v and 16v guise
