Newbie - JETTA GX 1.6 Mk2 (with pics)

Hi Everyone ,

Am now a proud owner of a Mk2 Jetta 1.6 GX (pics below)

Need some advice on where to get insurance (young driver, no no claims!)

Also does anyone have any info on the GX model? I can't find any official specs anywhere.

Also as this is a '91 model , will it have a cat? also carb or inj.?

I got insurance from Adrian Flux the other day, Fully comp with no no claims for £199, I am 28 tho.

Also try classic car insurers, not sure if a 91 is a classic, but give them a try.

I can't help on the car specs but I'm pretty sure 1.6 will be a carb, only GTi's back then were injection.

I doubt you'll be able to get the car on a classic policy, I tried for my '90 Jetta and got nowhere

1991 will not have a cat and will be a carb. Watching that one my self on ebay, did you notice the different front seats? nice lookin tidy example though .

Sweet jetta ya got the mate takes me back to my first GX Basicly in its day shes the spec below the 8v GTi and above the TX (also all 1.6) eventually replaced the TX not very many had the electric pack all GX had the fogs sunroof and 1.6 engine as you can see from yours it also has big bumpers so to recap

Sunroof
Front fogs
Carb (not injection)
+
Grey velor interior
Ski hatch behind rear bench arm
90 Spec bumpers

That does look a nice tidy example, I have spent a lazy weekends crusin around in Reavers old 1.6 before now
