Newbie - Jetta TX MK2
Hi All,
I have now been a Jetta owner for 24 hours now and I must say it's getting better by the minute.
I have been given for free a Jetta TX 1.6 Mk2 E reg with one a half months Tax and a week long MOT. It seems to be in good order, but will find out for sure on Saturday when it get's MOT'ed.
I would also like to say thanks for the link to Adrian Flux insurance. I have just taken out insurance with them fully comp for £199 with no no-clams. Very happy, it's cheaper than my Polo. I didn't get the discount 'cos I'm not a club member, but they did say when I become a member to ring them they might be able to sort out the discount then. I will let you know.
I will post pic's of her soon.
Laters,
Canters.

Re: Newbie - Jetta TX MK2
Hi All,
Thanks for the welcomes.
@Reaver - Yeah at the moment she is completely standard. I have plans for her if shes good and passes the MOT on Saturday morning. I would like to restore her to as close to as new as I can and just add little touches.
Quick question to anyone thats knows, Do most Mk2 Golf parts fit an Mk2 Jetta? Are they that close? At the moment I am thinking of parts like gauges, the bank of three and dash clocks (rev counter)

Re: Newbie - Jetta TX MK2
Thanks for the help and the offers
MOT Update - She failed. CV Boot split, Head light alignment out on NS, Bulb out and rear wheel bearings.
All in all not too bad. Garage wanter to charge me £175 for work and parts. So I went to GSF and paid £36 for all, plus some gear linkage bushes (CV boot from garage £14+vat, from GFS £6+VAT). I am doing the work today with a mate. So I'm a happy chap.
Still not taken pics. Will try and get some today.
