Newbie mk2 syncro
I thought I'd join as I've recently got my Jetta back on the road
Its a mk2 Syncro (4wd) apparently there were only 115 of these done in RHD so not that common. Its a standard 1.8 carb which I recently replaced with a weber 32/34 so it runs quite nicely. I've also changed the rear springs and shocks over as the last owner put "standard" Jetta springs/shocks on it so the back end was a bit on the high side, it now sits lower and drives better.
Cosmetically the car needs a bit of work, but theres nothing drastic and I'll try and get a few bits sorted over the winter, but first I've got to tidy up my golf cabby as its time to sell it
Heres an old pic of Jetta, I'll get some updated ones up shortly

Re: Newbie mk2 syncro
Hello and welcome Chris.
My dad bought a brand new Syncro Golf in 1989, same 1.8 carb - they are rare!

Re: Newbie mk2 syncro
Thanks for the welcome.
1.8T conversion is far too much work and god knows what the insurance would say as the syncro's group 16 before I start ... its more expensive to insure than my scirocco with declared mods
I am considerring a few less drastic mods, dx head/dizzy, custom exhaust plus general tidying.
