newbie
orite people
the names nathan or nath, whatever you choose, i currently own a citroen C2 but am tempted to buy a Bora next april once my insurance has ran out.
could use tell me why i should get a Bora 1.9 TDi S highline, instead of a C2 VTS HDi.
so far i have come up with a few pro's and cons
Pro.s for bora: Cons:
bigger More to insure
faster have to spend money on mods
cheaper to buy
looks just as good as C2
Pro's for C2: Cons:
already have mods on old C2 Smaller
cheaper to insure have to raise more money to buy the car
looks just as good as bora slower
any advise would be greatful
cheers

Re: newbie
its french! lol personally i think the c2`s are
1)very short, i like the dubs with a boot because it has lots of space.
2)the scene, every single vw show i have enjoyed lots and have had advice and even other vdubs pulling up on the side of the road offering help.
3)german engineering, i personally wont buy a car unless its german i think there build quality is awsome!
on the other hand tho, c2`s i should think are easier for town driving? being small?
bit one sided i know but that is my honest opinion.

Re: newbie
some good points there like build quality etc, ive personally only been to French car show as part of the C2 club and it was great and the only other kindof vw show ive been to is the vanfest as my dad has a type 2 transporter, if i sold my C2 it would pay for the bora and most of its insurance which is a good thing but i would have to spend the money on mods etc. ive been looking through the members car on the site and have seen some great looking bora's

Re: newbie
Hi Nath
my Dad has worked in the automotive trade since college & he's allways said if you want a good car go ether jap or german hence why this was my 2nd car & i still own it
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
then i bought the Bora & the reason for the Bora was £120 a year road tax & not much to insure plus i was doing more miles for work
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
then this year i wanted some thing a bit newer & ended up with this

plus if you want to experience a good dub meet come up to northampton & meet the booty gang at Edition 38 bring your Dad with his type 2 he'll be welcome

Re: newbie
Hello and welcome!
C2 to a Boro is a big old step. I think you will miss the turn in and crisp handling of the C2, the lack of weight will make it feel nimble, the Boro is heavier and softer and combined with the diesel engine will feel heavy and sluggish. The build quality is better and it may be more reliable, but I have owned PSU and VAG stuff and they are all much of a muchness IMO.
The Boro is more grown up though which may work out for you and is easier to get somewhere quickly without feeling like you have done the miles.
Good luck with it all
Andrew

Re: newbie
cheers, well the C2 i have atm is only a 1.1 with 63bhp and ive driven a skoda fabia VRs which has the same engine as the bora i think and i could feel the difference by a long shot in comparison to mine. ano the bora is bigger than the fabia but surely the extra bit of weight in the bora wont be much of a difference. and if i get the bora re-mapped plus i would be changing the suspension on the bora if i got 1 so softness wont be a problem
