Re: newbie with a mk2 :)
well since i got it i have put in the full new interior, a stage 2 kevlar clutch , a 16v box , a omp steering wheel, a sparco gear knob, a set of black clocks, a radiator , a thermostat ,subs ,new door speakers , clutch cable ,speedo cable and gave it a service i have a small water leak at thermo stat housing i need to sort out. The only plans remaing are to get my splits fixed as the rear left had a fight with a pot hole which the pot whole won i have some smoked side repeaters for it and smoked indicators for the front bumper then im hoping to get it machine polished and any dents in it removed and also get the arches put back on. However im thinking of possibly selling it once its all done and looking the dabs

Sweet so you have been busy!lol! How long have you had the car? I swear I seen one that looked remarkably similar to yours on pistonheads a while back. What are you thinking of getting if you do sell her?

Re: newbie with a mk2 :)
ive had it like 3 and a half months and well it was probably mine that you saw. I swapped my nissan pulsar gti-r for it and cash my way. when i got it it was really fealing sorry for its self like the interior didnt match and it was black rotten covered in holes and rip's and i cant have a car that isnt a nice place to sit in so the clean up began. i now have it for sale on gumtree and on scottish vag. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] thats my build thread on scottish vag and this is my for sale thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: newbie with a mk2 :)
It's a shame that I'm going away for so long cause I'd probably have it off you! I might give you you a shout in 6 months and see if you still have it!lol!

Re: newbie with a mk2 :)
What do you wanna do if you kept it? It's pretty much the same as mine less the rust and yours actually works!lol! Yours would look immense with a leather interior loving your steering wheel.

Re: newbie with a mk2 :)
well i have a new lip coming for my back wheels so i would be getting the wheels refurbed with new bolts etc and probable get a brighter red centre with a metal flake 4 branch manifold , new full stainless exhaust , set of for lights , then probs have the body work tidied up as much as possible without paint. and yeah i would of like a leather interior but i couldnt find any and then the one i got came up at a good price and its immaculate so just went for it and then after i got it 2 sets of leathers came up just my luck lol also it will probably get a samco hose kit and the engine bay tidied up alot more

It's sod law that is! You have pretty much just listed my shopping list for mine! I have started hoarding parts for when I get back, am having a nightmare finding a jetta back box in stainless. I think that I might drop the motor out of mine and give the bay some serious loving! Samco do some awesome colours on there hoses, positively spoilt for choice!

Hello and welcome bud, jetta is looking sweet as that stance is spot on, I long for some RM'S for mine, how do you find the carbs on fuel I've toyed with the idea before but do an average of 200miles a week to work and back

Re: newbie with a mk2 :)
Very nice buddy! I used to have a GX 1.6 carb exactly the same colour. Terracotta Pearl Clearcoat i think? Used to be located in fife, traded it in for a Renault 19 16v Chamade....silly me! It was decked as well. Ah, memories!
