Almost a Jetta owner
Hey,
OK, I'm not strictly a Jetta owner yet, but I do have a demonstrator sat on the driveway and I'll be placing an order first thing in the morning.
It's a company car and I just can't decide between:
2.0 TDi 140 SE - with touch screen DVD sat nav and the 'winter pack'
or
2.0 TDi 170 Sport - with nowt
All I do know is that I'd have both in silver, as the demonstrator looks great in silver with the sun gleaming off of it.
The demonstrator is a 140 and I really like it, but I've driven the Mark V golf 2.0 TDi 170 and remember the grin that gave me, but I also like cruise control, which the budget won't stretch to on the 170
If anyone has any strong opinions either way, please post and help me decide!
Anyway hope to be an active member soon.

welcome to the club mate.
if your on a budget go for the 140 with the toys, then at a later date get it remapped.

Re: Almost a Jetta owner
Ok thanks for the advice guys. I've gone for the 140 with the RCD510 with monsoon audio pack (over the sat nav - I have a tomtom that'll do me fine), winter pack, optical parking sensors and DAB module.
I'll be posting in the main forums to find out about this ECU remapping!
Cheers again

welcome to the forums buddy another mk5 we are building on numbers now. Remapping is definately the way to go
Re: Almost a Jetta owner
Hello and welcome
I would have gone for the 170 as you said you have a sat nav, cruise control can be retro fitted and then you could have had a re-map on top of the 170???..........

I agree with Venturbo my choice would have been the 170 bhp because at 150 mph u dont need to watch at sat nav or play with toys

Re: Almost a Jetta owner
Nah, I'm happy with the 140, it was quick enough for me, I'm just waiting to hear what the monsoon audio pack sounds like, cos I can't find any information on it and it cost me £810!
Since it's a company car, I can't retro fit anything (although they'll never know about ECU changes - I hope!) but it's got enough toys for me. Not as many as the Civic EX GT, but the civic is just too ugly!
