Bought a 1.6d big bumper for £200 to restore and was informed about this site......so hello there......looking to start work this winter and I'm contemplating an engine swap just don't know what at this stage...

Couple of options at the minute as I have an ALH 1.9tdi motor and a AEB 1.8t 20V motor sitting. The 1.8t might be the easier one to use with less mounting mods required, however I'm a bit of a diesel engine tuning fan so who knows.....

I was thinking of dropping a diesel in mine, but as I only really plan on using it in the summer for shows and the like in kinda swinging towards a g60, vr6 or a 2l 20v.

Yes I'm in the same position as the jetta will be used for shows.....anyway I've already got a few tasty diesels which are quick enough for daily running....plus I fancy a bit of petrol tuning again.....
