New Old Jetta Empty New Old Jetta

Post by trampdrifting Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:35 pm

Collected my new Jetta the other night. Its a 1.8 Webber Carb engine, GTI interior and bumpers i think - as a VW optional extra from new. Pretty tidy, a few rust spots.

Thinking of spraying it primer and putting my black alloys on (soon to be black)

Good idea or Bad idea?

Well, bit's i need to do are

1. Rear shock absorber, turns right fine but tries to leave the road when i turn left.

2. Sort out an annoying clicky noise

3. Remove the smell of old dog

4. Re-affix rear number plate - or fit new pressed ones like on the Vento

5. Clean up, it needs some serious back to black

6. Remove rust spots (venturbo)

7. Take off the 4+E gearbox and put it on the vento, i have never seen anything like it, it cruises at 100mph at about 3000rpm, how cool is that - and it rev's to 7k!

8. Maybe find G60 arches - not sure if they are wider than these, but if they are i want them!

9. Make it look similar to the one on the video on this homepage, i have a good starting point. It's the same colour!
