my car!!
well I've been on here for little while, and not really got much to show you about why I joined. So here is a little idea of what I have and am doing. i don't have and pics of the jetta yet, I'll get it into the unit later on this month and get some then.
This is my golf though, (whats left of it) plans are to basicly reshell it in t to 2dr jetta I bought, add a roll cage and a few more toys, then rag the nuts off it again!! this car was built with only driving in mind, and for nothing but going very fast.
here it is in various states of build.
it almost looked good at this point.

Re: my car!!
thankyou.
The reason for putting in all in a jetta is to adda bit more weight at the rear, as it is it is far to light and has massive lift off oversteer. Which fun as it is, is a little hairy at times! lol. The jetta will be much heavier and slower, should still be good for 12s off gas, and low 12s with. the nos I have is a very basic system, as it was just an experiment, when it goes into the jetta I'll do a proper job, and turn it up a but more. :-) Can't wait!!
I also smashed my DSG box to pieces and have been struggling to find a replacement, somebody has now found me one, so things are looking good for my target of ultimate dubs as a finish date, all ready for next race season.

it goes away on th 24th of november for a massive rebuild, so I'll have the space to get cracking. :-)
I'll try my hardest to document my work and give regular updates.

Re: my car!!
pod is my second home
I've not actually had much time to be there this year though
It looked a bit different this year, had no bumpers and was satin black right down the middle, bonnet, roof, boot the lot. I got tired of people thinking it was just another gti.

Re: my car!!
well about a year since i was supposed to have started this, I am actually now going ahead with it. silly things like buying my first house and having extra kids held me up quite alot.
I've finally started sticking the cage in, and the car is all stripped so there is nothing to stop me putting stuff back in. I've not been taking any pics but my friend has so here is what he's posted up so far.

thanks, the golf was never much to look at, but it was a proper weapon on the road i can't wait for the Jetta to be done now, I've had the golf off the road for about 9 months now I think

Re: my car!!
its another new year, so I've managed to just a little bit more. I'm on the big push to get it done for UDs again :jonp: going to be amazing if I manage to do it, especially as my second child is due to be delivered on feb 8th! so here is how the car stands at the moment.

the cage is all tacked together now, so the next job is to sort out my seating postion, fit a MASSIVE long steering column, then pull it all out and start prepping for paint.

Re: my car!!
so UDs has been and gone, and it was almost ready. I was having a little trouble with gear selection so ended up just pushing it into the hall, which was a shame. I haven't uploaded any pics yet, but here is one I found floating about.

Re: my car!!
well I've decided that i'm not allowed near a camara any more as all my pics were shocking. but the best collection of pics I have of it were taken by my comedy sidekick and are here. Thanks for the comments BTW, it was rushed together at the end so it still needs lots of finishing off.
