Forum Noob with a MK1 Jetta

Hi All, just registered so i thought i better pop in here and say hi.
I'm about to start the restoration of my 1980 Jetta Gli coupe Very Happy

I rescued the car back in 98 as it was going to be used as an autograss car but thankfully the previous owner could not get it running correctly (rusty fuel filler pipe and water in tank).
Got started on a bit of work and put a new front panel in it and sourced a second hand boot and some aftermarket wings and did a load of welding to the inner wings but being young I lost a bit of interest and diverted my cash into beer and women Rolling Eyes

The car sat for about 3 years until i got my own place and i started the preparation for the restore but this was interrupted by friend who had sourced a scrapper T3 for me so the car went to the side of the garage and my Vw Camper was born.
I think i have had the van for about 7 or 8 years and i learned a lot with the restore on that but now its time to start operation Jetta Smile
