mk2 series 1 two door coupe jetta
hello this is my new project bought off a friend as an unfinished project of his, abit of a mouthfull aha its a 1987 mk2 two door coupe series one jetta, still a very rare sight in the uk especially in series one guise, ie small bumpers, quarterlight glass doors, no sunroof, mk1 golf indicator stalks,no arch trims or door strips, the car was imported from holland and im told there is only a handful in the uk and most of them being 90 spec cars, the car is jade green which is even rarer as it should of come on later spec 16v models, now for the car, shes sitting on 14 inch 9inch wide rts cults with stretched tyres, weitec coilovers, wound right down, 1.8 16v engine, corrado hump back interior, the bodywork is solid and all original and dent free, just some scabbing on the front arches due to some bad arch rolling, ive got loads of plans for her, which include a complete repaint just to make it perfect, engine change, choice of two engines ive got sitting there at the moment are 2.8 vr6, which i do regular conversions into mk2's if anybody needs one doing or advice lol, or a 1.8 16v cammed and webber twin 45 carbs, think its going to be the lata, as id love to keep it period, shes gona have a complete smooth bay, with all wiring tucked and hidden again something i do to mk2's, and i want to source a complete new jetta trim to have recovered in the red and black gti chequers, will take pics and make a build thread as im building her up, anyway hope you guys like

Re: mk2 series 1 two door coupe jetta
thanks for the comments chaps nice to see people like it. well ive now took the car off the road, so much for enjoying it for a few months before starting work, just cudnt help myself! decided to go with the 1.8 engine on twin carbs keeping it nice and retro, finally got the bay clean! started to hide all the wiring, will add some piccys real soon, oh and a fresh colour on the centres of the rsl wheels, kind of a goldy copper colour, but works a treat with the jade green!
