Jetta Cola
I got the Jetta in February
1.6, 99k, 1 previous owner. Clutch was on its way and the paint was a bit pink/crap
When i got it home

Changed the clutch and cable and gave it a good service whilst i was getting my hands dirty.
Then polished it - tedious task, polishing cars

Already had the coilovers ordered and they turned up the next day, so i fitted them quickly

Big bumpers - SUCK!! when driving a car so low near me, i live on an estate in a village which is hammered with stupid speend humps
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Wasnt even really THAT low either, what with having balloons for tyres
So i trekked down to Nuneaton and got some small bumpers for it. Didnt want big dopey arch trims atc so they got removed, which revealed rotten front wings - grrr

Good job my plans included a rattle can red oxide respray, as couldnt find any decent red wings, so had to get a silver and a blue one
Yay for non scabby arches

Then on came the respray, not a bad finish really for an outside rattle can spray job. Sprayed all the black plastics satin black too

Oh and i did a funky star roof. I drew some stars onto sticky vynal, stuck them on the roof, sprayed it with red oxide and then removed the vynal to reveal gloss red stars, then outlined them with black marker

In the meantime id been refurbing some bottletop alloys/montreals (sp?)
Started life like...

Then polished the outer rim/lip and satin black'd the dish part
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Then painted centres red and made up some coca cola writing out of the white vynal sticky stuff
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Also painted the bumper inserts and handle inserts red
And finally, the latest addition, i gave it some white walls

Ten points if you can guess where the cars nickname came from

Re: Jetta Cola
Hats off to you, when i read that you were going to paint it red oxide, i had wrongly thought of a horrid rat look wanna be.. and what you have created is a well thought out, custom oldskool look.. the roof looks the nuts and the wheels especially with the white walls, simply awesome!
Top work!

Ive actually been waiting for people to label it 'rat look' hahaha, just because its got flat paint, but thankfully ive not read any comments as such on it yet...
I used to get it all the time with my old matt black and nato green nova loon
