[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I really need to clean it lol
He is my first VR6 and i love it.
Had some issue's along the way though, Thermostat housing fail, alternator fail, rocker gasket fail, leaking boot and dodgy starter, but even though its done all this every time i drive it i fall in love with it again.
Long live Shnitzel, i dont know if you can see but there is a new addition to my sticker collection on the rear window. that is Shnitzel from the cartoon Chowder for those of you who dont watch it
look what the postman has just brought me
My life is nearly complete

There are a few other things i have done since taking these photo's, i'l take some more photo's later and update the thread

its about an aprentice cook who has to eat everything, he has a pet fart in a cage. and his teacher is called mung who is voiced by the guy who played 'howling mad murdoch' in the A-team. Shnitzel is the kitchin hand / cleaner but he only says one word which is 'Radda'.

Re: shnitzel
looks good.
get some chrome spray paint for your lights.
not nice when you've just painted something then you move it and it falls, i've been there.

Re: shnitzel
Well its all sanded again now ready for when we have a sunny day for me to do it again.
I spent two hours yesterday taking my boot to peices trying to find out why i keep getting puddles of water in there. i managed to find 3 culprits, my rear light seals and a split grommet so i silliconed them.
It rained all night and most of today so i've just been out to have a look and the puddles are back GRRRRR
back to the drawing board

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
and after all that we put all back together and was left with three bolts and this
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
does anyone know where it goes. the loom goes down behind the lower lights to the horns and this is with them. am i right in assuming it should plug into the back of the bumper somewhere?

Re: shnitzel
what do you guys think i should do ?
I've had the Vento for 3 months now. i've had running problems, replaced the lambda sensor and the maf, gone through two alternators. My 5th gear is whinning. Ive got water coming in the boot. My chains are now starting to get noisy. and now i've found out it needs a new n/s sill and the rear floor pans are rotten, i can litterally push my finger through.
that was the other day
went to hatfield yesterday which is a 40 mile round trip and the handling started to feel very strange at the front mainly the drivers side. It felt as if i was driving over rumble strips and it felt wobbly and not very true on roundabouts so when i got back after the pretty scary drive i decided to jack it up using the jack in the car, the one for the car. Jacked it in the right place on the jack area on the sill and jacked it up. The front wheel lifted off the ground enough for me to check for play and then the whole car dropped. The jack was imbedded in the sill. I let down the jack and pulled it out and S**t loads of rust came out of it falling on the floor. I can now get my whole hand inside my sill and i still dont know whats up with the handling.
well i've had a good look today and its in a bad way i struggled to find somewhere to jack it up. There is a fair amount of rot bout the size of a dinner plate on both front jacking point area's. I've been offered a mk2 jetta gti to bowl about in and already been offered 150 for the vento front end so it looks like i'm breaking it and doing a vr6 conversion this year lol.
Does anyone want to help lol

Re: shnitzel
It sounds like you have got a realy rotten car there and if you got offered £150 for the front end I would say you need to grab his/her hands off and as for the mk2 (in my oppinion the mk2 is the more desireble between the mk2 and mk3, sorry mk3 owners ) that sounds a good deal to me hope you make the right choice

Re: shnitzel
Hi mate nice VR I'm not going to agree with everyone else and I think that you should try and save it . The sills common problem with Ventos and MK3's and once you have overhauled it it should be a minter
