Here is my 1.8GL automatic Mk2 Jetta.

I've had it 3 months or so and bought it for £100 from the local scrapyard - with half a tank of fuel, an eyebrow spoiler and 1 months MOT.

The carb has died, it might need a new zorst and of course now it needs an MOT. The paint needs a good buffing too.

I had fitted tinted indicators and repeaters plus an Isotta steering wheel but other than that its had nowt - TILL TODAY!

I bought Performance VW the other day and was inspired by the red Vento in there. You don't see many pimped, red Jettas around (everyone goes for Golfs) so I decided to have a play (but on a budget).

I have a set of springs to drop it a bit, some 15" Speedlines on 45 series tyres and thought that slammed combo, plus some tasteful colour coding would make it a nice motor.

Had a fiddle today and painted the Passat steelies I had put on it temporarily. I like them so I will be doing the 15's the same way before they go on.

Also started to colour code the kit which is making it look 10 years newer. I think a good slap of gloss black on the rims, shiny red on the kit and satin black on the minor trim will do.

All of it I think. Skirts needed tidying and the rest was very faded.

Stuck for a carb now so it won't be a runner till I can afford the £200 plus for a replacement!

Think I have located a carb at last - its a Pierburg unfortunately but at £50 its a cheap fix considering I don't intend to keep the car for long.

Hoping to have it back on the road next week.

theyre the same on both? i had it fitted to my mk1 1.8 cabriolet automatic for a few weeks. I think it came off a manual mk2 but worked on mine. Craig
