91 russet peal grey gti

i thought id post up on here my newest jetta, wasnt realy looking for one untill i got speaking to jettamk2coupe, he was telling me about his jetta, so i started searching ebay and came up with this

i got it for £300, it originally ticked all the right boxes, it was a j plate, a true gti, and also that it wasnt red in colour (its pearl grey), plus it was an 8v

but it had its downside i since found out, the boot lid was rotten, which i already new about, some rust behind the filler flap which i also new about
the rust i didnt know about was, both front wings are rotten, i am surprised the plastics are still held on,. nsr arch is rotten, osr quarter panel had a rust blister on it the size of a fist (ive actually rubbed this down to the metal and it was actually as bad as i thought)
ive found all the above with out taking of the plastics

not quite as 'yum' as the plate suggests then hope your still planning on keeping her and putting the work in though?

yeah i still plan on keeping her, just now its gonna take slightly longer to get back on the road than originally thought,
i do have big plans though,
get all the bodywork sorted have most parts already apart from rear arch, and paint
then once that is done its being vr'edi already have most parts for this as i i brought a complete vr golf just need to source a pedal box and passat crossmember

not a bad looker. if you've bought a vr golf, use the peddle box and cross member from that

Can't use a Golf cross member, retain the Jetta one and buy a solid conversion mount off ebay for £35.

Are you based in/around Kidderminster if Graham inspired you to get this?

thats wot i thought about the cross member,im originally from evesham, but now live in cheltenham but i do have a workshop still in evesham.
only recently got to know graham as i done an engine swap on one of his mates golfs
