been here for a while but never introduced myself
hi i'm ian from malta. i'm quite a jetta fan myself and really love volkswagen cars. last summer i purchased this mint jetta with only 35,000 kms on the clock. it's a 1986 jetta CL. it's 1.3 engine was swapped with an isuzu 1.7 turbo diesel intercooler. it's impressively fast for a diesel but i'm looking around to find a vw engine. what eninge do you guys reccomend? i will soon post pics.
p.s. due to super high fuel prices and high taxes on cars having large engines i can only limit myself to have an engine no bigger than 1800cc.
this is my target, i have already purchased a set of e30 m3 bbs like these and i'm waiting for my ta technix coilovers to arrive:

Re: been here for a while but never introduced myself
if 1800is your limit, go for the 1.8li 16v gti engine its actually 1795cc or somthing similar.
or a 1.8 20v Turbo if you have a little more cash from a mk4 golf or you could go for a Normally aspirated 20v 1.8 non turbo from the mk4 dont really know how good they are tho
