V Dub first timer
Hi
Just bought a 57 plate tdi se dsg, pick it up in a few days. I've got a C4 VTR+ 2.0i at the moment and it's a good car but it's a thirsty wee bugger (30mpg according to computer) so it has to go. This must be a first but buying another car is actually going to save me money, I reckon between £600 & £650 per year on fuel, car tax and insurance. I am a member of the C4 owners club at the moment and it is really helpfull so I am hoping for more of the same from JOCUK.
Why a Jetta?
The size, not too big, not too small
V Dubs reliability
A boot you can sleep in
And amongst other things....III LKE IT!
So here's hoping for years of trouble free motoring.

Maybe a remap one day but not for a couple of years yet. I like the way the car looks at the moment so nothing more adventurous than carpet mats and maybe parking sensors

Re: V Dub first timer
Got the members pack today, some good info in there.
I'll be washing the motor either Thursday or Friday so I'll put the sticker on then, what do you reckon...rear quarter light or back window? If we all put them in the same place then we'll all know where to look...........

Re: V Dub first timer
Drumop do you mean the membership sticker if so we normally display them in the windscreen near the tax disc but obviously the choice is yours
Re: V Dub first timer
Picture looks good!
I found the stock suspension set up quite "floaty". I went with a mild 1.3" drop with the Koni Adjustables and just love the way it handles now.
Let me know if I can help with any questions! although I have the 2.5I MKV, a lot is still the same.
But mostly.....Drive that thing and enjoy it!

Re: V Dub first timer
Yeah, the suspension is a bit on the soft side but my last car had quite firm suspenson (Citroen C4 2.0i VTR+) and as I've got Rheumatoid Arthritis I'm quite enjoying the softer ride at the moment.
Thanks for the offer of advice but I'm still the honeymoon period at the moment, can't find a thing wrong so here's hoping that doesn't change.
I don't see me doing much in the way of mods, maybe a remap but not untill the warranty is up, I just wish i'd bought one sooner.
Nice car bye the way.
