17 inch alloys.....will they fit?

Hi again, i was wondering if anyone on here has managed to put some 17 inch wheels onto a mk1 jetta? Ive been given them and while im having my banded steelies made and powder coated i thought i could use these! my jetta is on coilovers at the minute so could adjust the height. would they fit? or just make it look like a tractor unless i made room in the arches and tucked them in?? Please help!!

The jetta in those pics looks excellent! i will try the alloys on my mk1 on wednesday and put some pics on here to see what you lot think!! i have a feeling i may have to trim the inside of my arches to get them in nicely!! cheers for the link im thinking of preping my paint work and red oxiding the whole lot then anchor waxing it. i did it on my commer camper van and it looked the nuts, would only be till i could afford to get it professionally sprayed! Thoughts on that please??? my mk1 is a horrible biege at the minute and am fed up with idiots asking if its a Lada!!!

Hi, tried the 17 inch alloys they fitted after i raised the coilovers but when i took the car out to try them i turned the wheel and bent the arches out!! So needless to say i wont be using them!!!
