Hi everyone, though I'd pop on here and say hi.

I have (under a sheet in a town in Wales) an '83 MK1 Jetta, that I had when I was a teenager. I converted it to GTi running gear using a DX MK1 Golf GTi.

I then sold it back in '97 but bought it back from a scrappie last year, in a very sorry state.

I'll get some pics up later on.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. I no longer live in Wales but it was a bit of a rush job to save the MK1 from the scrappie, so I just grabbed it and towed it to my Dad's place in Aberaeron, which is where it is now covered with a sheet waiting for me to pick it up and sort it out, but my business is taking up all my time so it's on the back burner at the moment.

It fired up and ran for about 10 seconds when I collected it, so it shouldn't take too much work to get it back on the road.

Here's a photo of when I collected it a couple of years ago...

Might ditch the 90s paint job and put it back to standard dark red when I sort it out.
