My mk2 Jetta LX - Capri Green Empty My mk2 Jetta LX - Capri Green

Post by capri_green Tue Sep 09, 2008 10:40 am

I bought this a few weeks ago to keep me mobile until i got a bit more cash together for a gti. Its mega cheap insurance and tax, i hope i dont get used to it haha

Jetta LX 1.3, its a 5 speed which is a bonus. Loves the motorway which is weird. It doesnt like big hills as much hehe

It has the usual carb problems, needs a tiny bit of gas sometimes when starting but it never struggles to start. The idle needs adjusting slightly as well as its a little bit low, that should solve the problem.

All clean

Yeah it is tidy, it has its stone chips and a couple of small dents but theres barely a spot of rust on it and the paint is really good. The 1.3's are super easy to work on!

And i can put my bike in the boot and not worry about people seeing it and breaking in! Cash baaack.

I know, but we dont have space or knowledge to do any conversions, i also want something a bit more lady like hehe

I 'broke down' on the way to work this morning, thought the jetta had let me down big time, until i realised i'd run out of petrol and it was my own fault haha

Long live the Jettarama :-)

With a rare colour, late reg and solid shell thats definately a keeper. Engine swaps are easy as long as you've got the bits, its all plug and play. I done swaps in car parks before now.

Tidy looking motor, welcome to the fold.

Of course! Trouble is, I can't remember the last time I saw a mint Capri Green GTi on a late plate (apart for the one on ebay and it ain't perfect).

I know I have a natural bias towards the spanner, but i do believe that mechanicals are something that alot of people are wary of when really its just like a big greasy lego set.

Bit of planning and dedication can lead to a very satifying result.

Don't forget, we're all here to help, either online or in person. Depending on location of course.

I know its a 1.3 and very economical but they still need a drink occasionally Wink........

Suggestion for your first mod to the car - Tax Disc Holder.

i ran out of fuel this year, very embarrassing indeed! Especially when it does 600 miles to a tank, not exactly thirsty! Very Happy

Please don't let your jetta go to waste. It looks like a really smart motor and as the others have said engine swaps are really easy. Loads of people on here to help as well. If you are selling it I maybe interested in taking it of your hands so please let me know.

Don't worry, the Jetta wont go to waste. Ive just taken a deposit from two lovely dudes who will give it a good home! (im making it sound like a kitten!)

Its got a lot of scope engine wise when the new owner is ready, but thats all up to him. (i wont say his name in case he wants to keep it a secret) Looking forward to seeing the jetta get a bit of moddage.

:-)
