I'd picked up a set of used coilovers and cleaned them up to get the car up and running until the budget allowed for something better but they seem to be fine.

Thanks for the nice comments lads , it's really coming together now. Cant wait to get it up and running!

I picked up a set of 312's off a TT, new discs all round , O.E pads , ABS sensors , Goodridge braided hoses and replaced all the copper brake lines front to back so it should brake 100% now. Also threw in new bearings too

Engine wise i'm leaving it standard for the mean time anyway. Simple bolt on induction and exhaust. Couldnt get a Miltek for the Vento , only for Golf. Maybe just as well as i hear their standards have dropped as regards quality. So a Jetex is was. It's quiet enough but when it warms up there's a nice rasp off it. Give it a few thousand miles and i'm sure it will be sweet!
Induction is a Pipercross

I wanted to paint the back of them gloss black to make the face of them shine that lil bit more so i tackled into preparing them. Cleaned all the old brake dust, tar and general road grime with white spirits then got the sandpaper out

The finished product, went with Goodyear Eagle F1 GD D3 205/40/17 and they're E marked, not cheap compound asian imports. They're gonna be a bitch to keep, i didnt want to lacquer them incase it might lift if it got a stone chip. Just have to keep plenty of poorboys on them i suppose

Well i'm only 25mins from UD if you need somewhere to stay, you've obviously got an eye for detail and the patience! Quality of the work is exceptional, assembled garage is getting close to fantasy status.

TT Comps are the best wheel you can fit to a Vento IMO.

You look like your getting some really nice bits and pieces together for your motor, can't wait to see the finished motor. Jay is right it looks like you have amazing attention to detail as well, or is it just good photos Wink. I'm sure its the first and it will be a great car when it all comes together.
