First VW / First import

Just got my first ever VW. I work for a local car dealership. A lady traded in her 03 VW Jetta/ she thought the motor was blown in it. Turns out after the techs looked it over and fixed it, was only a timing belt. So far it runs good. I have a lot of plans for this car. Little by little I will customize it and work up up the motor a bit. I am new to all of this ( The import thing). The car is in pretty good shape. Needs some minor things done to it. I need to get a new key fob and figure out why the car won't lock even trying to lock it from the power locks, but that's not that big a deal..
