So your just after the red trim inserts? Dont most motor factors sell this stuff on a roll? I know its not the genuine thing but it would work......maybe not i'll shut up now lol.

Car panels direct apparantly do the small bumpers with red inserts. They are pattern bit though so i'm not to confident on the quality.

Sorry Ant if you had put your post up a little earlier I would have still had the front strips you could of had as I just removed them from mine to fill and smoothed my bumpers. Sorry your post went up about 2 days after I through them away, tipical I know. I did see some on ebay recently in very good condition on very good bumpers, if I find them again I will let you know.

It wasn't on ebay I saw some it was on the Oxford club site. Just been on there and found them again. I have emailed the chap selling them to see if he still has them. Unfortunatly they are from a golf so the rear one would be too small, I know but the front one is good. He wants a fiver for them. Is this any good?

what is the colour code for the grey stripe? It was a popular theme for a varity of their cars for some time. Theres an example in their literature for their kits they designed with a Lotus designer and also on the cover of VW Power & Style by Ian Kuah. Good on you for restoring it and well

Hi buddy its Atlas grey but my bodyshop are double checking that one for me. They did it on most of their vw commisioned cars it was their trademark stamp really. I would have thought your Golf was bought by a VW customer and then taken by said customer to GTi Engineering for the tuning after purchase at least thats how my research has gone so far

aye- he bought it and the engine was completed 14 days before registration. Ive even tracked him down and we have spoken and written to each other a tiny bit. Theres more info in the new members bit- all he wants to know is how much faster I can get it to go and not what it looks like.

It comes over as being more silvery than atlas grey. It isnt silver- grey metallic as that was a later colour and yet it looks darker than diamond silver.

I picked up the red inserts today. If you still want them let me know and we will arrange getting them to you.

Well im a bit behind on the updates ive been doing a little back ground club work but here you go shes already in the body shop and has been since the first week in Feb with the current wheels on we struggled to get it on the trailor as seen here

We had to lift the car whilst my wife drove it onto the trailer to avoid rippin the exhaust off but hey shes there in one piece so to speek Ive now recived my new wheel thanks to Rowlesy

and this week well chuffed got mu tyres from top gear £125 for 4 Toyo Proxies deliverd then got these back

Well its looking good for UD so fingers crossed im due to get the car back Friday and its booked in for the MOT Monday the 2nd
