Injectors???

i think ive got a noisy injector. the sound its making is very similar to tappets. However its got plenty of oil and all that.

What i wana know is are these injectors commonly used in other cars and how do you fix a noisy injector?

Its a 2.0 8v if thats any use Smile

ive personally never in my life heared of a noisy injector, im sure they dont even have mechanical parts in them on vw's aswell, if your oils fine and your tappets are tapping, then it could be your oil pump on its way out, might be worth getting the oil pressure tested (two min job) and make sure before its too late

if the oil pressure isnt right then surly the light would be on. ???

in theory, that assumes your oil pressure sender is working correctly, which it probably is, and also assumes that the pressure has dropped low enough to trigger it. probably being over dramatic, depends on how noisy the engine is. suppose it could be a million things really

The tappets could just be stuck or a bit clogged up. Try the ATF trick or some engine flush.

add it to you oil, got knows how much, it has cleaning properies and goes around your engine cleaning it up, however cant runn it for too long and have to do and oil and filter change afterward.

i did it once just before doing an oil change, but have no idea if it really made a difference or not

father in laws vento 2.0 8v (2E engine) suffers from noisy injectors too,

sounds like an old fiesta when the bonnet is up

Never heard of that before!!!! What should the oil pressure be? I have an oil pressure guage plugged directly into the oil filter mount (one of the spare screws on the top) it runs at about 95psi while on the move with the foot down, about 70psi at about 80mph crusing, 40psi say with gentle driving. 18/20psi at idle? Any Idea's?

i dont have a clue what the oil pressure should be and not a clue what it is.

Try a different grade of oil.

tried a few different oils but none seem to have made a difference. i mean it gets regular oil changes so i dunno. it still goes well Very Happy
