I can confirm 07jettamk5 does own the 1st Mk5 on the forum

Finaly got arund to cleaning my engine bay yesterday. Easy with some simple green, and a hose.
I removed the fuse and battery covers to dry them and got to thinking....
Then i was off to home depot for suplies.

All clean and dissasembled:

I used Rust-oleum fpr plastic, as it already has the primer in it.

Several coats later:

Then some clear coat:

And looking good!

Untill... I got to thinking some more, and got out the blue tape...

Now, it's back to the depot for more paint

Also just ordered the Beetle engine cover, and I will play with that a bit too.

Overall I'm happy, but I will do better next time!

I put the blue tape on too soon and it left marks. Ill try to wett sand and buff it out, but for now it looks better.

Well, i have sold the Silver Tails, and installed the OE 08 GLI smoked tails. I am pleased with the new look.
